Strange, apparently i cannot add a screenshot.

The problem occurs after pressing the "start install"-button.

I do it the manual way (tar, and both php's are on the right location) but i doubt if i should use the "Install files directly:" instead of the default "

Install files throught ftp:  - incremental transfer

"

option.

Try and upload the screenshots here http://imageshack.us/ and post the links over, when restoring, was the incremental files restore option checked?

i cleared the passwordfield for security reasons, and yes, i left all defaults, so the incremental files restore option was checked.

Please try and upgrade XCloner to the latest version 3.0, we've updated also the restore script, see if you have anymore issues after

Hi Ovidiu,

I was finally able to run the script: i had to modify the htaccess-file in the tar-fil to be able to run the script. But i got an error message (screenshot posted on imageshack:  http://img232.images.....p.jpg/   ) and the website runs with errors: no template e.g.

Do you have suggestions? Update the component that caused the error first before migration? update joomla?

Try making a restore with the "Restore by using server utilitiies" option checked and see if it helps. If not, you can also try to extract the backup archive manually and restart the restore process with "skip files restore" option checked. Make sure also the configuration.php file gets properly updated with the new mysql details.

Regards, Ovidu

Hi Ovidiu,

now everything works fine now due to two fixes i had to do: one my own fault: the configuration.php, the other is something you have to know: the .htaccess file which is put in the backup (tar-file) has to match with the settings of the provider, otherwise you get an error: in my case i had to make a commentline of "Options +FollowSymLinks".

Freddy

Ps: i am very glad with the support and i will ask my client to make a donation to you (after all he has saved 45 EUR)...
