I finally succeeded.
I removed this part - as you suggested:
| 1 | if(!defined('STDIN') ) { |
| 2 | echo "<h2>".$topErrorLine1."</h2>\n"; |
| 3 | echo "<strong>".$topErrorLine2."</strong>\n"; |
| 4 | exit; |
| 5 | } |
Added a configuration name, and appended it to the end of the cron task.

1. I deleted the code above from cloner.config.php
2. In the WordPress XCloner plugin: Administration - Configuration - Cron (tab at the top): I added a Configuration name, like: anyname.php
3. In cPanel: Advanced (group at the bottom in cPanel) - Cron Jobs: I added a new Cron job:
/usr/bin/php /home/xyzfolder/public_html/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/cloner.cron.php anyname.php
