However i am trying to do EXACTLY what you recommend doing and it redirects me immediately to the old site

So i am trying to get to siteb/wp-login.php but as soon as i type this path, it redirects me to sitea/wp-login.php

If i use sitea/wp-login.php, it correctly goes to sitea/wp-login.php

I really wish to get to siteb/wp-login.php, but as soon as i type this, it straight away goes to sitea/wp-login.php

Hope you can help on this

Try following this tutorial on resetting the wp url http://codex.wordpre.....s_site_URL , could you check the wp-config.php file from the new host to see if you have these two lines there

 

define('WP_HOME','http://example.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://example.com');
those are being used by XCloner to reset the url for the new location, so you might try that as well as indicated here http://codex.wordpre.....e_Site_URL
