I recently installed the Wordpress plugin and took a backup, which I was able to download as a TAR file onto my new server. How do I restore this file with your tool on my server? I'm coming from GoDaddy and now have a dedicated Ubuntu Virtual Machine that I want to restore the site to. I only have one website.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I'm having trouble with it though. I moved the site backup, tar.php, and xcloner.php to the same directory on my new server. I unpacked the backup tar file in the same directory and tried to open the xcloner.php file, but nothing happens. I have php5 installed on Ubuntu 12.04
Is there any better documentation that provides a more clear way to do this manually? There seems to be steps missing and I'm not familiar with php and I'm a novice Linux user. Please help! I would do the FTP method but this would involve requesting ports to be opened on the firewall from my provider and I would rather not ask for things that I know nothing about.
Thanks

This image shows the unpacked tar backup, and also the packed tar file is still there as well.

this shows what happens when I try to launch the xcloner.php file. I selected Firefox as the application to use because it wasn't finding anything to run it

I hope this isn't a really dumb question, but do I need to have wordpress installed on the new server first?
EDIT: ok found out the problem was that I needed to place the files in the /var/www/MY SITE NAME folder and since my DNS was still pointing to the old server, I had to use the IP address of the new server with the /Xcloner.php addition..after that I was able to restore everything after we setup MySql also. if I didn't have the help of my friend, I never would have figured this out..not for n00b's...pay the $10 support fee to save your headaches 🙂
thanks!
