Hi  – I have just transferred my main domain from a host running Plesk to one running CPanel. As an aside, I will say that CPanel seems much more friendly to XCloner, although I have had one or two issues …

1. I had to adjust "Files to process per request" to 30 to get it to run without a timeout.

2. It still seems to timeout at the end with the message …

Request Timeout

This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the

server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of

this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

The backupfile seems to get created OK, but I can't actually see where to adjust this connection timeout parameter.

3. My backups are almost twice as big as on my old host ! Why should that be ?

4. Under "Php Configuration Information" I have a long path string next to "Php open_basedir", in red text: why is that ?

Hope you can help ? Thanks.

The timeout message is usually related to the php.ini max_execution_time paramers, so check and see if you can get that increased!

As for the backup size, make sure you are not including any other backup archive, so double check the file list. You should not worry about the open_basedir!

OK- will look at sizing again, though I don't think I was backing up the backups. The size means I am considering using Amazon S3 and if i do, I'd be interested in encrypting the info. In the light of a quick delve in to the S3 doc, I have added a post elsewhere.

Thanks,
