OK, that error indicates your Backup Start path is incorrect, it needs to be a full server path, could you post a screenshot after your XCloner Config -> Info tab as well as the first XCloner Config tab with backup paths

There's no way for me to create the temporary folder backup path on the old host.

So I cannot create the start path /administrator/backups which to me seems quit silly. To try and understand why there needs to be a directory there in order to backup on a remote FTP is beyond me. I've also created the directory for the backup path in about a half dozen configurations to make it "writeable" and no matter what I do, it's not possible. I've CHMOD the entire root directory to 777 which would make it a HUGE security issue and it STILL says it's not writeable. So I give up on this "plugin"

It's not really a plugin is it....

XCloner needs that folder to be created for it to write it's temporary files as well as store the backup before it transfers it over to the ftp host, so without that it simply won't work, we already mentioned this in the installation instructions

So, try and create it, so you create first a backup, then you can use the cron process to transfer to a new host, or the View backups panel if needed
