Try and switch the "Backup mode" to Normal in your XCloner Config->System tab and see if it makes any difference.

Hi there,

I'm using Joomla 2.5

I'm trying to generate a backup but I get this message:

There was an error retrieving the JSON data from the server, try again or contact the developers!

Details: error -- undefined

JSON url: index2.php?task=recurse_database&nohtml=1&dbbackup_comp=&dbbackup_drop=&startAtLine=55&startAtRecord=50000&dumpfile=/var/www/vhosts/wyldwoodradio.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/backups/database-sql.sql

Try changing the Backup Mode to Normal in your XCloner Config -> System tab and see if it helps! Additionally, if you click the Retry button from that error screen do you get any further?

Frown

It got only so far, about 30% of the way through and then this:

Not entirely sure why the page is apparently in Maltese, considering it's an English language site. But as you can see, there is no retry button in this case, only if I use AJAX, and then, if I click it, nothing happens.

You are probably running into some server limits, i would suggest checking with your hosting support on this. If you like, feel free to open a support ticket and send us the site access details to see if we can help fine tune the backup process.

My server has no limits, unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk

I am not paying to open a support ticket where there is no garuntee of a solution. The only reason I am trying this is because akeeba would not work either.
