I also have had a problem generating a backup, and have done all of the suggested changes, including excluding all files in media, images, and all videos, but it still has a total file size of 200 mb, and it will process about 100 files each time. Perhaps this component will not work on my server. Here is the message:

The size of the tmp file produced barely approaches 8mb.
Has anyone who had this problem been able to rectify?

Ovidiu,
I appreciate your persistance with this issue, but somehow this does not seem to be working. I am able to get these all backed up with Akeeba (i admit it is huge 45 GB total) , and I thought I would try the cloning function of x-cloner. But it will have to wait until I need to use a cloning tool for a smaller site in the future.

I found a solution for this issue, give 777 permissions to the file: administrator/database-sql.sql , execute a manual backup. Once the manual backup has been completed turn again the file permissions to 644. X-Cloner now runs properly.
P.D.: Dont forget to do the "2. decrease the Files to Process per request option to 25 in the XCloner Config->System tab" that says XCloner Support!.
Hope that works for all.
